How about city walls that have health status and defense score:
-They could be damaged during unsucessfull attack
-Opened or sabotaged by spys
-Repaired and maintained by specialists
-Troops could be assigned to them perpamently or per tick (special training) and recieve higher defense scores
The first two ideas seem the easiest. |

The Ideea it is very good, but i think it is complicated:
1. If you put soldeiers in towers(or something like this), you will have a part of army with an extrabonus, the wall give bonus to all your army;
2. Can be the towers demolish by an succesfull attack?
3. You don`t have troups (catapults) who can damage wall;
4. how can a spy damage a wall?(you don`t have explosive)
5. the repairs will be instant or per turn (the case when the wall it was damaged after an attack)?
6. how much will cost the repairs? since you can buy for the market all the row materials you will reduce everything to the gold (bank depos).
7. since you want to damage wall, you must think to put some upg or research who can improve durability, probably a research of "Wall Level" who can improve the base value or limit wall lvl.
So, i will stop, but if you decide to implement this it is better to think twice. _________________ n
