i even tried to buy just one wood log and it doesn`t let me

.........

Now that Warehouse system is working?
that`s why was not letting me purchase more woods :/

and the Hero <build> perk does not apply to them as well or they are not considered to be a part from the buildings?

You have to build warehouses and assure that you are not already above the limit.

If you are, you need to sell some of the other resource.

yes, you need more warehouses.
Go to Industry -> Raw Materials
